Good morning Elaine:

1) The status on the non-municipal funds is:
  • The Municipality has received a check for $92,000 and a check for $5,000 totaling $97,000
  • Mr Franklin has indicated that today by 2 pm we will have additional funds totaling $93,466 bringing the total to $190,466
  • Mr Franklin also states that a check in the amount of $50,000 will be delivered prior to the meeting bringing the total to $240,466
  • Finally, Mr. Franklin states that the Community Endowment has funds in their possession totaling $15,267 that will be delivered to the municipality by the end of the week bringing the total over $255,000

2) Concerning the NPDSS permit, we have responded to the Conservation District's comments and expect to receive a permit by the end of the week.
3) Concerning the review of documents, the Solicitor has the right to review all documents up until the point that they are signed.
4) The draft document with the School District is attached. It has been reviewed by the School Solicitor and Supt. but has not yet been presented to the full Board.
5) We received the MSDS and related information from the low bidder
6) As Commissioner Fraasch indicated in her email to you, last night Dr. Johnson sent the Commissioners comments on this matter.

Checks are not money in hand as anyone knows that has waited for a check deposit to clear with their bank.

Didn't Mr. Bendel promise that the turfing would not proceed until the cash "was in hand?"

So if we take him at his word, they cannot qpprove the bid to turf tonight.

if it's for kids.. no matter what the cost,, it will bet approved.. its really a shame. it's kind of ironic though,, a couple years ago one woman's crusade against Lebo's leaf piles in Robb Hollow Park because of health reason.. WAS approved...

2:29 PM, Mr. Bendel told me directly during Citizen Comments that they have received the cash in hand. I don't like to be lied to, especially by a commissioner again.

I believe that Mr. Bendel was also quoted in an Almanac article that turfing would not proceed until all the cash was in hand.
How can they approve the bid to turf tonight if they won't receive a check for $15,267 until Friday?

Hey Bendel-- LIAR, LIAR, PANTS ON FIRE!

He and Franklin also lied to the community when they told the press in February that there was no place to install more grass fields in Mt. Lebanon.
We paid $2,000,000 for a spot to install more fields on McNeilly and Fraasch showed that two could be built at Robb Hollow.

Correction--
it wasn't Bendel and Franklin that said there were no alternatives for grass fields. It was Kristen Linfante.
"“There is not another option,” said Kristen Linfante, commission president, who voted in favor of the turf along with John Bendel and David Brumfield. “We would love to have grass fields. There is simply no place to put them.”

Q: if the private sources came up with over $255,000 shouldn't the $750,000 in undesignated taxpayers contribution be reduced by $5,000+?

Wasn't this planned turfing suppose to cost $750,000 + $250,000 = $1,000,000?

Holy crap

You know what this means?

It means private residents only contributed just over $15,000 to the project. The rest was taken from unsuspecting parents who have been paying fees to sports associations for years to pay for equipment and field time.

Those sports associations I am sure did not communicate very well where the money had been going all these years.

Amazing bag of tricks, Franklin/Brumfield.

This is NOT going to cost taxpayers $750,000! Brumfield knows this as do the other morons. It's more towards 3 MILLION than to the $750,000. And the talk at the swimming pool on the 4th was that these a$$wipes of commissioners plan on pushing another 10-12 MILLION in athletic projects not including the School District's indoor athletic field. Now that they have their turf they will add all their little fields. But the talk too was the owner of Cool Springs was adding fields so they could have their own leagues. Parents will soon be able to get their kids away from Mt Lebanon ball. Seems that Cool Springs will have excellent coaches to go with excellent facilities.

12:56 Ya see, the Cool Springs owner grew up in USC where you don't just still public parks for personal profit. He actually *bought* Cool Springs, he didn't steal it with taxpayer money.

As I was exiting the building, a small group had gathered outside and were conversing about plans for an indoor sports center in Main Park.

Another sports complex, 1:24, really?

Maybe Mt. Lebanon should switch to the handle of "A Community of Sports Addicts Willing to Drain the Community Coffers for Their Own Edification."

Lebo Citizens said...

Yes, 1:24 and 1:43 AM, a $4 million multi purpose athletic facility. They want to build above the Rec Center in the park. See Why we can't keep up with the Joneses
"Update June 24, 2014 4:50 PM I requested a copy of the Sports Advisory Board wish list. Adding a price tag of $4,000,000 for the multi purpose athletic facility brings the SAB Capital Projects Worksheet total to over $9,000,000. This does not include the Toxic Turf Project at Middle and Wildcat Fields. Or the $4,000,000 Aquatic Center. Or the High School Sports wing. Or the $74,000 trophy case. Or the future turfing of the Rock Pile. Or the High School Tennis Courts. Or the Rifle Range. Who says we hate sports?"

Brumfoeld and his wife have been talking about "An indoor field" for years. We've lived on Crystal Drive for almost 12 years now and we heard this at our first Block Party. I'm not one of Brumfield's "buddies" so we don't get invited to their little driveway events but our next door neighbor fills us in. They feel that they are untouchable and are going to build and spend millions for their pet sport related projects. Elaine you said something about building above the ice skating rink. NO... They want a indoor full sized lacrosse field built. The School Board crap is not the same. I heard that Dixon/WC would be cut down some so it would be just one field and enclosed with a steel building. Some say no it will be built down by Public Works. The estimated cost... 12-18 MILLION!!! And will result in LESS fields. And just like this turf issue Brumfield and goons on the commission could care less if the MAJORITY are against it. I hope parents sign their kids up at Cool Springs leagues and leave the Lebo dads scratching themselves you know where...

Everyone should have an indoor field so they can practice when it rains. The Commission can hire Pursuant to raise the $12-$18 million dollars. They will ask the sports parents to contribute. Isn't that why both parents are working?

5:53 Please let us other poor taxpayers know when your neighbor Brummie is having his "driveway" parties so we can invite ourselves. Maybe with a few beers he might listen to what OTHER people have to say. Sure doesn't when his fat a$$ is sitting in a commissioner's chair. Elaine my youngest terrorist (3 yr old with an anger management problem right now) was flipping through the channels at dinner when we noticed the Commissioner's Meeting was airing. Oh what body language of our commissioners.... Especially Brummie! I take you and him hang out Uptown every weekend? Wow!

Lebo Citizens said...

11:52 AM, "Brummie" was on his best behavior when WTAE film crew was there.

Yeah, I try to hang out with Dave, but since he has blocked me on his municipal account (or so he says) and won't answer his phone when I'm calling him (in his dreams), it is rather difficult to hang out with him Uptown.
